Dr. TennisonThe goal of the UNC Child Neurology Residency Program is to train outstanding clinical neurologists and to foster our residents’ interest in teaching and academic neurology. This is accomplished through extensive exposure to clinical neurology and thoughtful didactics in a collegial and nurturing environment. Through the course of our training program, residents progressively obtain greater independence and autonomy as they gain more experience in managing patients.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Residents supporting Black Lives MatterHere at the University of North Carolina Neurology Residency program, we are committed to fostering and celebrating diversity. Diversity is not limited to gender, race and ethnicity, but includes age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious commitment, physical ability and other varied backgrounds and life experiences. We believe that a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion leads to a broader perspective that has positive changes in the way we think, behave and deliver care. We welcomely recruit and strive to develop a well-rounded and diverse program in which we can all grow and learn from each other, with the common mission of education, discovery, and excellence in clinical care with the elimination of health disparities.
