Goate\, DPhilProfessor & Chair\, Genetics and Genomic Science at Mount Sinai\nDr. Goate is an internationally recognized leader in the genetics of neurodegenerative diseases and serves as the Jean C. and James W. Crystal Professor of Genomics and Chair of the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. \nFor more than three decades\, Dr. Goate has been at the forefront of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) research. Her work has helped shape current understanding of how microglial biology and genetic risk factors contribute to disease. Today\, her lab uses cutting‑edge genome‑editing technologies to uncover disease mechanisms and advance therapeutic development. \nDr. Goate is also the founding director of Mount Sinai’s Ronald M. Loeb Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and has received some of the field’s highest honors\, including the Potamkin Award\, the Rainwater Prize\, the MetLife Award\, and the Alzheimer’s Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
