Patel\, PhD\, is a clinical and population health researcher with training in epidemiology and biostatistics. His research investigates systems of care for acute illness and injury\, with the goal of improving timely access to life‑saving treatments for rural and underserved populations. He leads the Emergency Medical CollaBorative on RegionAlized CarE (EMBRACE)\, a multi‑institutional research initiative focused on advancing regional systems of care. \n\nThe School of Medicine of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
