UNC Neurology is pleased to announce the Division of Headache as an expansion of our services. The Division will be led by Gary W. Jay, MD, FAAPM, FACFEI, who is a neurologist specializing in headache and pain.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gary W. Jay<\/a> received his medical degree from Northwestern University where he also completed his residency in neurology. For the first 25 years of his career, Dr. Jay served as a private practitioner, running a tertiary-care, interdisciplinary pain center. He also worked as a part-time consultant to pharmaceutical companies before going full-time in 2005.<\/p>\n

Dr. Jay has published five textbooks on headache, pain and minor traumatic brain injury (mTBI). He has also published over 150 articles, mostly in peer-review journals, as well as monographs and textbook chapters. He participated with the IMMPACT group for eight years where he helped to develop a number of publications on pain, and he is an active speaker on pain medicine, headache, and mTBI.<\/p>\n

SPECIALTIES<\/strong>
\nDiagnosis and treatment of headache and pain of all types including migraine with and without aura, chronic daily headaches, tension-type headaches (episodic and chronic), medication overuse headaches, cluster headache and other trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
