Goate, DPhil<br \/>Professor &amp; Chair, Genetics and Genomic Science at Mount Sinai<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dr. Goate is an internationally recognized leader in the genetics of neurodegenerative diseases and serves as the Jean C. and James W. Crystal Professor of Genomics and Chair of the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.<\/p>\n<p>For more than three decades, Dr. Goate has been at the forefront of Alzheimer\u2019s disease (AD) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) research. She was part of the team that discovered the first mutation causing familial Alzheimer\u2019s disease and contributed to identifying major genetic variants for both AD and FTD, including Trem2 and MAPT mutations. Her work has helped shape current understanding of how microglial biology and genetic risk factors contribute to disease. Today, her lab uses cutting\u2011edge genome\u2011editing technologies to uncover disease mechanisms and advance therapeutic development.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Goate is also the founding director of Mount Sinai\u2019s Ronald M. Loeb Center for Alzheimer\u2019s Disease and has received some of the field\u2019s highest honors, including the Potamkin Award, the Rainwater Prize, the MetLife Award, and the Alzheimer\u2019s Association\u2019s Lifetime Achievement Award. Submissions should be concise and informative, limited to a single PDF page. The format is flexible, but the content must be clearly readable when printed on an A4 paper.
