polleux

Dr. Franck Polleux was elected co-chair of the next Neural Development Gordon Conference. This is one of the most popular scientific conferences in the field of Developmental Neurobiology. It usually takes place at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island and is held every other year (next one in 2010). The conference is an interactive environment for students and professors to exchange ideas and present recent findings on development of the nervous system. The oral presentations at the meeting will cover a range of invertebrate and vertebrate systems and describe results using multi-disciplinary approaches including molecular-genetics, imaging, and physiology. This meeting covers a wide range of topics including neural stem cells, cell fate specification, gene regulation and patterning, neuronal migration, axon pathfinding, glial development, developmental disorders of the CNS, and the formation of synapses and neuronal circuits.
