Ralf Schmid, PhD

Ralf Schmid, PhD, was a Postdoctoral Fellow at UNC-Chapel Hill from Aug 2001-June 2005 in the laboratory of Eva Anton.  He was selected was selected as a recipient of the Helen Lyng White Fellowship in 2003.

Since receiving the Helen Lyng White Fellowship, Dr. Schmid has served as a Research Investigator at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (June 2005-Jan 2007), Senior Research Scientist at the Duke University Center for Drug Discover (Mar 2007-Apr 2010), and is currently serving as a Research Associate at UNC-Chapel Hill (Apr 2010-present). 

He has since been awarded the Basic Science Research Award by the Society for Neuro-Oncology and Down Syndrome Research Award by Anna's Angels Foundation and Duke University Pediatrics.  He has also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research at UNC School of Public Health and NC Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute.
