During my studies I completed two years of undergraduate research investigating mechanisms of physiological trade-offs between reproduction and longevity. Also during that time I completed a four-year research and development internship at the medical device company Medtronic. Between graduating and starting at UNC in the fall of 2013 I worked as a lab technician at a local start up company in my hometown, and travelled as much as possible.
