Schiller, PhD,<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"x_apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she serves as Director of the UNC Center for Women\u2019s Mood Disorders. Dr. Schiller\u2019s NIH-funded research program investigates how changes in ovarian steroid hormones contribute to depression and anxiety across the reproductive lifespan\u2014from puberty through the menopause transition. Her work integrates neuroscience, endocrinology, and clinical psychology to identify the biological and behavioral mechanisms that underlie women\u2019s mood symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Schiller also conducts patient-centered research focused on improving access to effective, evidence-based mental health care. In collaboration with a large, global team of researchers, she studies how psychotherapies such as Behavioral Activation can be adapted and delivered to reach more women during periods of hormonal change.<\/p>\n<p>Clinically, Dr. Schiller provides consultation and psychotherapy for women experiencing mood and anxiety disorders related to hormonal transitions.
