This award will also be recognized at the Chancellor\u2019s Award Ceremony on April 22, 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\" \"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eligibility is extended to any graduate or professional degree-seeking student who is enrolled during the 2013-2014 academic year. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nominations<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Graduate School is now accepting nominations for the Boka Hadzija Award (<a href=\"http:\/\/gradschool.unc.edu\/hadzija\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">http:\/\/gradschool.unc.edu\/hadzija\/<\/span><\/a>). Nominations are welcomed from any faculty, staff, or student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. February 7, 2014. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Deadline extended until February 14, 2014.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Selection Committee<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The selection committee for this award is comprised of graduate and professional students, faculty and an administrator. The decision by the selection committee is final.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dr. Boka W. Hadzija<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dr. Boka Hadzija, who died in 2013, was known and admired throughout campus as an award-winning teacher and mentor, having earned the 2005 C. Knox Massey Distinguished Award and no fewer than 39 awards from the School of Pharmacy and University. She exemplified excellence in scholarship, leadership and service to Carolina. In recognition of her numerous contributions, that have advanced the University, she was inducted into the Order of the Grail-Valkyries, Order of the Golden Fleece and Order of the Old Well. She has been recognized by students and peers as an inspirational mentor, a generous donor in support of students and an outstanding leader. Dr. Hadzija always demonstrated tremendous strength of character and a deep commitment to serving her students.
