March 2012 \u2013 Assistant professor Spencer Smith receives a Career Development Award from the Human Frontier Science Program, an international organization funded by the governments of the G7 nations.<\/p>\n

March 23, 2012 <\/i>\u2013 Assistant professor Spencer Smith, PhD,<\/a><\/b> has been awarded a Career Development Award (CDA) from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP).<\/p>\n

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)<\/a> is an international organization funded by the governments of the G7 nations, Australia, India, Republic of Korea, Norway, Switzerland, New Zealand and the non-G7 members of the European Union, who are represented by the European Commission.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Career Development Award (CDA) funds HFSP fellows who return to their home country or move to an HFSP member country to establish their independent laboratory. It is the primary funding mechanism offered by HFSP that aims at encouraging repatriation of postdoctoral researchers after the fellowship tenure abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n

The award provides $300,000 of support over a 3-year period.<\/p>\n
