Dr. Edward Yap joined the UNC Neurosurgery faculty in late December of 2019 as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Yap is very familiar with the Department of Neurosurgery and the neurosurgery faculty since he completed his seven-year neurosurgery residency program here at UNC. Now he is returning as a board-certified neurosurgeon and member of the UNC Neurosurgery faculty, working alongside fellow UNC neurosurgery residency graduate, Dr. Carolyn Quinsey, who overlapped Dr. Yap’s residency training for five years.
After Dr. Yap’s completion of his neurosurgery residency in 2018, he completed a fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. We are looking forward to his contribution to the neurosurgery department, specifically in the area of brain aneurysms and cerebrovascular disease.
