Neurosurgical oncologist Dr. Dominique Higgins was invited to participate as a moderator for a session of the Christopher Davidson Forum for Brain Tumor Research hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.
The conference consisted of keynote speakers considered to be leaders in the field of brain tumor treatment. The theme of this year’s meeting was “Decoding the Brain: The Tumor, the Body.”
Dr. Higgins was selected to moderate a discussion on tumor biology. “It was honor to lead the discussion on brain tumor biology in a room filled with some of the brightest minds in the field of neuro-oncology,” said Dr. Higgins.
The Christopher Davidson Forum for Brain Tumor Research was established by Joanne and Charles F. Knight and their family in 2016. Chris attended the Naval Academy and later served as a nuclear submariner. He attended the Washington University for his MBA. Ten years after completing his MBA, Chris was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. After more than four years of treatment, Chris passed away in 2014.
