  • Dr. Eldad J. Hadar Named Vice Chair of Neurosurgery: Eldad Hadar has been named Vice-Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery effective November 1st.  Dr. Hadar's steady influence and advice have been keys to success and growth of our program over the past eight years.  His appointment as Vice-Chair tells the UNC Health Care Community and the national  neurosurgery  community what many of us already know:  He is a key leader for our group and his input and insights are highly valued as we chart the course for UNC Neurosurgery.

Jigsaw Puzzle-Match 2013

  • The Search for Our Match 2013 Begins: This week we welcome one of the most accomplished cohorts of resident applicants for interviews that we have ever seen, kicking off the season.  Our team of Smyrna Robinson and Felicia Sawyer organized the day with the level of precision that would make the D-day invasion planners jealous.  Dr. Matt Ewend said, "In what I hope is a sign of increasing national recognition for our program, we are seeing the best applicants from around the country."  Thanks to our residents as well for representing the program so well during the "interview season."

  • New Name for Our Pinehurst Location: Our Pinehurst operation has renamed its practice to draw upon the repetitional strengths of UNC and the FirstHealth Medical Center.  Previously known as Carolina Neurosurgical Services, the group will now be called "FirstHealth UNC Neurosurgery." Doctors Wadon, Carson, Haworth, and Jaufmann are working together with UNC and FirstHealth to grow the premier neurosurgical practice in the Sandhills.
