Kristi Hildebrand, PNP-AC, pediatric nurse practitioner in the Department of Neurosurgery at UNC Health, has been selected asKristi Hildebrand with patient the Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor for Children’s Surgery.

Kristi has worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner with UNC Health’s pediatric neurosurgery team since 2016. She has a passion for working with this challenging patient population and enjoys working with the pediatric neurosurgery team. Prior to becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner, Kristi worked as a nurse in the PICU for 10 years. “I am looking forward to serving UNC Health as the APP supervisor of Children’s Surgery,” said Kristi. “I plan to support our amazing pediatric APPs through professional development opportunities, as well as improving clinical practice and patient care. I love being a part of UNC Health’s APP team.”

In addition to her work in the clinic, Kristi has also organized virtual and in-person events for spina bifida families at UNC Health. The events included virtual education on important topics for patients and caregivers of children with spina bifida led by various health care professionals at UNC Health. The in-person events included activities for spina bifida patients and an opportunity for parents to connect with other parents in the Triangle area.

About Kristi Hildebrand
Kristi Hildebrand completed her BSN at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MSN at Duke University. She currently serves on several committees including the APP Advisory Council and co-chairs the Pediatric APP Group. She is the current President of the NC Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and two children, reading, crocheting, and running.
