Clinical Research at UNC

The research goal of the Department of Neurosurgery is to help create new knowledge that advances the care of patients with neurosurgical disease.  In this setting, clinical research is particularly important.  UNC Neurosurgeons are actively involved in the brain tumor consortia including the Alliance, the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative and the CERN (Collaborative Ependymoma Research Network) Foundation.  UNC is an active participant in the genetic sequencing of protocol termed UNCseq (where we’re currently the top enrolling group) and supports ongoing stroke trials within the Department of Neurology.  Links below detail some of these unique clinical trials and opportunities for patients to participate.
