UNC Congenital Brain and Spine Malformations Program
The UNC Congenital Brain and Spine Malformations Program is dedicated to providing comprehensive, innovative and advanced care for patients born with neurologic diseases.
Congenital diseases include:
- Myelomeningocele
- Spina bifida
- Scoliosis
- Basilar invagination
- Os odontoidium
- Tethered cord
- Arachnoid and other brain cysts
Drs. Deb Bhowmick, Scott Elton and Carolyn Quinsey co-founded the program in 2017 in order to pursue development of the most advanced techniques in surgical treatment of congenital disorders. For appointments and information, please call (919) 445-2410.
