BabyFriendly practices allow parents to learn how to care for their newborns while they are still in the hospital.

ABC11’s Anna Laurel visited N.C. Women’s Hospital to learn how BabyFriendly practices help new mothers and their babies make the most of their first few days together.

“I think it’s really important to learn how to do something new and scary with some training wheels,” said Dr. Alison Stuebe, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine specialist at UNC.

Laurel also interviewed Dr. Carl Seashore, associate professor of pediatrics at UNC, about how the practices positively impact new babies.
