Dr. Kim Boggess selected for Oliver Smithies Investigator Program

Dr. Kim Boggess, a professor in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, has been recently named an Oliver Smithies Investigator, an honor established to recognize senior research faculty in the UNC School of Medicine who have not been appointed as a distinguished professor but have made major contributions to research within and beyond their discipline.

Dr. Boggess was honored for her extensive body of work and research in her field. Her appointment as an Oliver Smithies Investigator is for an initial term of five years, with an annual award of $15,000 to be used for research or professional development. Investigators will become members of the Oliver Smithies Society, which will hold an annual meeting to highlight the work of the scholars.
