The fund supports research, treatment and outreach programs at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In August 2009, Becky Black was diagnosed with an aggressive form of endometrial cancer and received treatment at UNC. She passed away Nov. 2, 2013.

Her husband, Dr. David Black, was inspired to help raise awareness and research money to fight endometrial cancer through the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. He established the Becky Black Memorial Fund to Fight Endometrial Cancer. The specific focus is to help the efforts of Dr. Victoria L. Bae-Jump, associate professor of gynecologic oncology at UNC OB-GYN, who specializes in endometrial cancer research at UNC Lineberger.
