Meet Dr. Rosser

Where did you grow up?
I was born & raised in Phoenix, Arizona.
Where did you go to medical school?
University of Arizona College of Medicine- Phoenix
What inspired you to be an OBGYN?
I have wanted to be a women’s healthcare provider since high school. Growing up, I was always amazed by the concept of pregnancy and became interested in a variety of topics within women’s health as I grew older that really pulled it all together for me. I get a lot of fulfillment from caring and advocating for vulnerable populations in vulnerable times, something we are privileged to do every day as OB/GYNs. My major career hiccup was in college when I was trying to decide if I wanted to be an RN or an MD…but the field of OB/GYN was always my goal.
Why did you choose UNC ?
I knew I wanted to be a part of the UNC OB/GYN family after my interview breakfast. I was immediately impressed by how many faculty and residents were there to meet us on a Saturday and really enjoyed seeing all of them interact. It was clear that there was amazing camaraderie and friendship throughout the department at all levels. My obsession was then solidified during the residency video which showcased the lives of the residents. I cried happy, longing tears and it was all over then! I had to be here.
What you are most excited about during residency?
I am most excited about the new family I have created here in NC, my adoptee german shepherd pup “Phoenix”, and finally realizing my lifelong dream to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for women.
