Dr. Louie is a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon and a board-certified obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) physician. She attended medical school at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, completed residency at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and completed fellowship sub-specialty training at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.

Dr. Louie is an expert minimally invasive surgeon and treats the full scope of gynecologic surgical and pelvic pain issues including fibroids, endometriosis, heavy or irregular bleeding, and essure-related pain. She believes there’s no such thing as a normal period and no person should suffer heavy or painful bleeding! Her special interests are fibroid care and ensuring all patients have access to minimally invasive (laparoscopic or small-incision) surgery, which has been proven to provide better outcomes than large incisions. Dr. Louie also has a special interest in hysterectomy for transgender patients. Dr. Louie’s research interests are in improving post-operative outcomes by reducing complications and pain.

Dr. Louie is committed to a meticulous surgical approach. She believes in making surgery available to all people and reducing racial, ethnic, financial, and gender disparities in healthcare. Her ultimate goal is for patients to have a fulfilling and joyful healthcare experience.

When not providing medical care, Dr. Louie enjoys traveling and exploring new cuisine and outdoor adventures both locally and internationally.
