The UNC Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is committed to providing respectful, evidence-based care to the women of North Carolina. We recognize that most of life occurs outside of the hospital and doctor’s office. We engage with our community outside of the exam room, learning from our patients and their communities while also sharing our expertise. An engaged community is a healthier community.

Community Engagement

• Horizons: In a unique, residential, community-based setting, UNC Horizons provides care and treatment to pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorder.
• Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC): Faculty and fellows precept at the oldest, student-run free clinic in the country.
