"Perioperative Analgesia for Abdominal Surgery - Benefits And Pitfalls of Neuraxial Anesthesia"
Dominika James is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. She has completed residency in anesthesiology at UNC Chapel Hill and subsequently transitioned across the street to the dark site to complete her fellowship in pain management at Duke University. She has been on the UNC pain faculty for the last 6 years and as such she has been providing care to pain patients on both the acute and chronic inpatient pain services as well as in the realm of the outpatient pain clinic. She is particularly interested in the advances pertaining to improvement in perioperative analgesia and prevention of chronic pain development, and she is here today to give discuss use of epidurals for abdominal surgery.
