2016 Exceptional Patient Service and Patient Service Star Awards were recognized Aug. 12, 2016.


On Friday, Aug. 12, the UNC Medical Center outpatient clinics, providers, and staff were honored for the exceptional care and service they provided our patients during the 2016 fiscal year.

Three UNC OB-GYN clinics received Exceptional Patient Service awards:

UNC Hospitals Gynecologic Oncology Clinic
UNC Urogynecology and Reconstructive Surgery at Rex
UNC Gynecologic Oncology at Rex

UNC Hospitals Women’s Clinic received a special patient service award with distinction as the clinic with the Most Improved Score.

Over the course of the 2016 fiscal year, UNC Medical Center outpatient clinics and diagnostic and therapeutic services cared for more than 1.5 million patients.

“All of us have been patients. All of us have had loved ones who have been patients. We know that it is rare to remember staff members by name,” said Dr. Brian Goldstein, UNC Hospitals Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “The fact that patients are remembering so many of you by name and taking time to provide feedback is special. Something about what you and your managers and your staff are doing in these practices is special. We are very grateful for your care and service.”
