Bellington Vwalika, MD, MSc, received his medical degree from the University of Zambia (UNZA), Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from University of Dublin, and Masters in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has served on faculty at UNZA and the University Teaching Hospital since 2005, including as the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has led numerous clinical studies in Zambia and currently sits on the UNZA Biomedical Research Ethics Committee. He has also been invited as a technical consultant regionally and internationally. His scientific areas of interest include safe motherhood, emergency obstetrics, family planning, and HIV prevention.
