Family Reading Partners

UNC Horizons began collaborating with Family Reading Partners in April 2016. Family Reading Partners provides opportunities and modeling for parents and children, fostering language acquisition through singing, reading, and talking about books together. Family Reading Partners is a local, research-based organization which gives families books to keep at home for personal collections.

FRP meets with Horizons’ families approximately once a month on Saturday mornings. The facilitators are professional educators, and the sessions are hosted by Horizons’ clients in their apartments.
