Women and children who are living under the dire circumstances produced by alcohol or substance use disorders will have the opportunity to start down the path of recovery and healing.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2017, Horizons dedicated the clinic space to three physicians from Greenville, N.C.: Dr. James Edwin \u2018Ed\u2019 Clement, Dr. Robert G. \u2018Bob\u2019 Deyton and Dr. Edgar S. \u2018Dick\u2019 Douglas.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. John Thorp, Horizons medical director, first met the honorees as a medical student at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and honored them as pioneers of delivering critical care to women in need in North Carolina. <a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/obgyn\/news\/unc-horizons-honors-three-greenville-physicians-for-longtime-service-to-women2019s-health\" target=\"_self\"><em>Read more about the dedication.<\/em> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper, U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, UNC Chancellor Carol L.
