Keller graduated from UNC’s School of Nursing and East Carolina University and comes to UNC most recently from Duke University.

Shannon Keller, MSN, CNM, joined UNC Midwives at the end of July. Keller is a native of Raleigh and earned her BSN from the UNC School of Nursing and her MSN specializing in midwifery from East Carolina University.

She returned to Carolina from Duke University where she was an RN on the labor and delivery floor and recently served on the Board of Directors for the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She believes in the power of women as they give birth and in giving midwifery care that is evidence-based, individualized and in partnership with the woman.

“I am passionate about the national midwifery movement, ensuring that there is ‘a midwife for every woman.’ I am excited to join this amazing group of midwives and provide stellar care to women through their lifespans,” said Keller.

Outside of work, Keller enjoys cooking with her husband, playing tennis, relaxing at the Outer Banks and running her dog around the lake.
