My TECT fellowship made me a competitive candidate for a position in academic medicine. The high quality, dedicated training in research rounded out my background in clinical medicine and equipped me with the skills to work as an independent researcher and mentor to residents and students.
The environment at UNC has incredible depth and breadth to support research training. The department of OB-GYN is full of dedicated researchers and clinicians who are always willing to mentor and help with projects and ideas.
Beyond the department, UNC offers great support services. The classes in the MSCR program and through TRACS focus not only on research skills, but the practical aspects of academic medicine and research careers - a focused training that not many other institutions can offer.
