UNC has been nationally ranked second for NIH funding for obstetrics and gynecology.

According to the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research, the UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is ranked second in the nation in National Institutes of Health medical school funding for 2013.

UNC OB-GYN was awarded just over $8 million in NIH funding in 2013.

” I am very proud of the dedication of our research faculty to achieve such a high level of successful grant funding,” shared Dr. Daniel Clarke-Pearson, Chair. “The commitment that our researchers have will translate to better care for women, all over the world.”

UNC School of Medicine ranks 14th nationally with a total funding in 2013 of $255,579,763.
