Wanda Nicholson, professor at UNC OB-GYN and president of the UNC Association of Professional Women in Medicine and Science helped organize the UNC School of Medicine’s 2019 Women in Medicine Conference on October 4, 2019, at the Carolina Inn.

Each year, the event celebrates women in medicine at UNC and honors physicians who have contributed to the advancement of women in medicine.

Cristy Page, MD, MPH, Executive Dean and William B. Aycock Distinguished Professor of Family Medicine, will be the event’s keynote speaker.

The half-day conference welcomed UNC School of Medicine students, residents, fellows, faculty, staff and alumnae, and breakfast and lunch were provided. They keynote was followed by a panel discussion and a networking lunch.

The event was co-sponsored by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, the Office of Medical Education, and the Association of Professional Women in Medical Sciences (APWIMS).
