For the fifth year in a row, UNC OB-GYN is collecting gifts for the families of UNC Horizons, our comprehensive substance use disorder treatment program for pregnant and/or parenting women and their children, including those whose lives have been touched by abuse or violence.

The Holiday Tree is in the Chair’s Office at 3009 Old Clinic Building with ornaments that convey the wishes of our mothers and their children. Please take an ornament and return your gift to the tree unwrapped by December 17.

UNC Horizons will host shopping days for the women in the program on December 19 and December 20 to browse the donations and choose the best gifts for their children. The women will have the meaningful opportunity to give these gifts to their children on during the holidays. Horizons will also have an area set up for the women to wrap gifts and work on holiday cards. Such a special holiday would not be possible without your compassion and support.

Horizons also has a donations room, and if you have any gently used holiday decorations that you no longer need we would happily accept those as well. We will also be accepting wrapping paper for the ladies to wrap gifts.

If you have any questions, please contact For any questions contact Rachel Middlesteadt-Ellerson or Kim Andringa or at 919-966-9803

UNC Horizons would like to express our deep and sincere gratitude for your donation, and we wish you a wonderful holiday season!
