This is the third year for the program, which helps clients and their families make meaningful holiday memories.
The UNC Horizons Program’s annual Holiday Tree is now up in the UNC OB-GYN Chair’s office and Administrative Suite in 3009 Old Clinic Building.
Each ornament or candy cane on the tree has one suggested gift item, and participants may take as many as they like. All donated gifts should remain unwrapped and placed under the tree by the morning of Dec. 7.
On Dec. 9, UNC Horizons will host a shopping day for clients to browse the donations and choose the best gifts for their children. Clients will have the meaningful opportunity to give these gifts to their children on Christmas morning. UNC Horizons will also have an area for clients to wrap gifts and work on holiday cards. Such a special holiday would not be possible without the compassion and support of those who participate in the Holiday Tree.
UNC Horizons also has a donations room and will happily accept any gently used holiday decorations, along with any gently used women’s or children’s clothing, coats, other housewares, etc. UNC Horizons is also accepting wrapping paper to wrap the gifts.
UNC Horizons is UNC OB-GYN’s comprehensive substance use treatment program for pregnant and/or parenting women and their children, including those whose lives have been touched by abuse or violence.
