Doximity’s Residency Navigator rankings place UNC’s program as one of the top obstetrics and gynecology residencies in the country.

The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s residency program remains among the top OB/GYN residencies in the country, ranked 4th in the latest Doximity Residency Navigator rankings.

“We are lucky to have an amazing group of faculty whose dedication to our educational mission is evident in the caliber of residents we are able to recruit to our program,” said Dr. Daniel Clarke-Pearson, chair of the department. “These results from Doximity affirm our goals of providing excellent care to women at every stage of their lives and building knowledge in so many aspects of women’s health research.”

The rankings, released this week, were calculated based on evaluations from more than 50,000 board-certified U.S. physicians, who evaluated 3,691 residency training programs nationwide across 20 specialties.

“This is outstanding news indeed! Excellence in residency education has been a long-standing priority for our department,” said Dr. AnnaMarie Connolly, UNC OB-GYN’s vice chair for education and director of the medical education division. “This strong national ranking reflects the truly collaborative commitment our faculty and fellows have to such excellence.”

Four other programs in UNC’s School of Medicine were ranked in the top 20:

  • Family Medicine, No. 7
  • Otolaryngology, No. 14
  • Radiation Oncology, No. 23
  • Urology, No. 16
