Dr. Daniel Clarke-Pearson traveled to area UNC OB-GYN clinics to personally thank staff and providers for their contributions to our recent top rankings.

Dr. Daniel Clarke-Pearson, department chair and Robert A. Ross Professor at the UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, along with members of his administrative staff, visited nine UNC OB-GYN clinics October 12, 2016 to say ‘thank you’ for helping UNC OB-GYN earn top rankings for gynecologic care.

This year’s U.S. World & News Report ranked our Gynecology services at UNC Hospitals #1 in North Carolina and # 11 in the entire country. UNC Gynecology scored ‘best’ in survival and patient services, as well as in our use of advanced technologies. Other scores included ‘very high’ in number of patients, as well as recognition for Nurse Magnet status.

Recognizing that such rankings are truly a team effort and the result of excellence in every area from clinical care to customer service, Dr. Clarke-Person and his staff spent the day traveling to many of our clinics around the Triangle area to bring signs recognizing our rankings, as well as Carolina blue Tar Heel feet sugar cookies.

The group met and personally thanked all available UNC OB-GYN staff – from those who care for our patients at the front desks and on the telephones, to the care providers in exam rooms and nursing stations.

Accompanying him on the trip were Vice Chair for Administration Kim Schneider, Administrative Director Jeffrey Arscott, Clinical Director Deborah Patel and Communications Director Courtney Mitchell. Cookies were also available at the UNC OB-GYN’s administrative office throughout the day for those who work in the School of Medicine.
