Gynecologic Oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is designed to prepare highly skilled sub-specialists dedicated to the care of women with gynecologic malignancy, spanning the depth and breadth of the specialty. To achieve this, all educational experiences are supervised by board active faculty in Gynecologic Oncology in a supportive clinical environment capable of delivering comprehensive cancer care. Acquisition and development of research skills is an important component of the educational process, as well as demonstrating critical and analytic thinking. The faculty of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology support the clinical and research missions of the Fellowship Training program by mentoring fellows to achieve future successes as clinicians, academicians and as national leaders in Gynecologic Oncology.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/obgyn\/patient-care\/divisions-and-services\/gynecologic-oncology\/\"><strong>Gynecologic Oncology\u00a0at UNC Health<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2\n\t         id=\"user-md\"\n\t         class=\"icon center fa-user-md\">Application Process<\/h2>\n<h3>Application Timeline:<\/h3>\n<p>For fellowship starting August 1, 2026:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, April 6th, 2026:<\/strong> Deadline for fellowship applicants to submit applications via ERAS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, May 11th, 2026:<\/strong> Selected applicants will be notified via communications through ERAS portal regarding interviews.<\/p>\n<p>Two in person interview dates will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 &amp; Saturday August 8, 2026<\/p>\n<h3>Positions:<\/h3>\n<p>Two positions per year are available on a competitive basis to our 3-year training program.<\/p>\n<h3>How to apply:<\/h3>\n<p>The UNC Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program participates in the electronic application submission process <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/students-residents.aamc.org\/applying-residencies-eras\/applying-residencies-eras-system\">ERAS<\/a><\/strong>. The ERAS application needs to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Curriculum vitae<\/li>\n<li>Personal statement<\/li>\n<li>Photograph<\/li>\n<li>Medical school transcript<\/li>\n<li>A copy of the dean\u2019s Letter from your medical school file<\/li>\n<li>USMLE scores<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Letters of recommendation (LOR): 3 required<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1. A letter from your\u00a0<strong>residency program director or OBGYN chair<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Using the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sgo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Residency-Program-Director-Recent-Supervisor-SLOE.021025_FILLABLE.pdf\">Standardized Residency PD\/Supervisor SLOE form<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>2.\u00a0A letter from someone who can speak to your\u00a0<strong>interest in gynecologic oncology<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Using the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sgo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Gynecologic-Oncologist-SLOE.021825_FILLABLE.pdf\">Standardized Gyn Onc SLOE form<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>3.
