His appointment began January 14, 2019.<\/p>\n<p><u><\/u><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/nay7V5zVsmK1FuwRvtlsYUYODQe-76OcaOXhAu8vIply0X01vhRdYlYK5URYupC11vnPkFfz8UoPfcDo6vcxLgf6PDpSQhtCm8VpfZNdXHaLLlCMGKaw_3FKgwvXM3b6VXP3EtNJDwBMrkMxQgU9dN01oIgEmJ1NRfo=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/bd7239d5ea51ca08b197401ef\/images\/6a3b66f3-6923-4acf-9d1e-db81a47bb790.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"350\" align=\"right\" \/><u><\/u>Arscott holds degrees from Presbyterian College and a Masters in Health Administration from Duke University.\u00a0 Throughout his 30-year career, he has been a leader in academic health care administration at both Duke and UNC Health Care. He joined UNC Health Care in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>He came to UNC OB-GYN in 2005 and has most recently served as the department\u2019s administrative director, responsible for the department\u2019s clinical and academic financial operations in coordination with the UNC Faculty Practice and Health Care System and department leadership. In this role, Arscott has been an essential part of executive leadership, strategic planning and the facilitation of the department\u2019s financial and administrative goals for efficiency, growth and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Daniel Clarke-Pearson, Robert A. Ross Professor and Chair, says this appointment is a natural extension of the central role Arscott has played in the department\u2019s progression and advancement over the past decade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJeff\u2019s leadership in our academic and clinical missions over the past 13 years has brought continued success and prosperity to our department and has contributed to a constantly improving integration and performance of both operations,\u201d Clarke-Pearson says. \u201cHe has contributed years of consistent guidance to all levels of administration, and I am grateful for the deep level of knowledge and service he brings to this role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arscott replaces Kim Schneider who retired from the role in September.
