ACAC is committed to the principle that all children and adolescents (ages birth through adolescence) have equal access to a full array of mental health services, regardless of ability to pay or insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Horton is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor and Nationally Certified Counselor. She has more than 20 years of experience working with children and families in both school and community settings. She specializes in social and emotional assessment and treatment of young children and is trained in several evidence-based models of treatment for infants and children.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The UNC Horizons Program is a substance use disorder treatment program for pregnant and\/or parenting women and their children, including those whose lives have been touched by abuse and violence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Evette Horton, PhD, assistant professor in the UNC Horizons Program, has been elected president of the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling.
