The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology\u2019s residency program is once again recognized as one of the best in the nation.<\/p>\n

According to the Doximity Residency Navigator<\/a> survey, which includes peer nominations from board-certified U.S. physicians, UNC\u2019s OB-GYN residency is recognized as No. 3 in clinical reputation. This is the fourth year in a row the residency has been in the nation\u2019s top three.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Residency Navigator program lists can be sorted (or ranked) based on several qualities, including reputation, research output and program size. The rankings shown above are sorted by reputation, indicating that these residency programs are among those that board-certified physicians hold in the highest regard for quality of clinical training.<\/p>\n

AnnaMarie Connolly, MD, vice chair for education and residency program director at UNC OB-GYN, says the ranking reflects the department\u2019s commitment to UNC\u2019s missions of teaching, research and service.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are absolutely delighted by the most recent Doximity rankings, which again ranks our OB-GYN residency program number three in the nation,\u201d says Connolly, Annie Louise Wilkerson, MD \u201936 Distinguished Professor of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery,<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this year\u2019s rankings, our program has been in the top three for four years. This consistency and excellence, as recognized by our national peers, truly speaks to the outstanding educational commitment and effort that goes into the care of our patients and our educational programs, particularly our residency program, each and every day. It remains a privilege to work with such patient centered, educationally oriented residents, fellows and faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Doximity Residency Navigator is an interactive tool designed to help the medical students research and compare residency training programs nationwide based on their unique career interests. It combines objective data with 260,000 nominations, ratings and reviews from over 52,000 U.S. physicians.<\/p>\n

Doximity<\/a>\u00a0is an online professional network for U.S. physicians launched in 2011. Physicians who are registered with Doximity are eligible to vote for the residency rankings and for\u00a0U.S. News & World Report\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0Best Hospitals<\/a>\u00a0rankings.<\/p>\n
