{"id":1217,"date":"2020-01-22T15:06:19","date_gmt":"2020-01-22T15:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/obgyn\/2020\/01\/22\/9717-2\/"},"modified":"2023-08-01T20:51:10","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T20:51:10","slug":"9717-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/obgyn\/2020\/01\/22\/9717-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Stuebe selected to co-lead UNC Center for Maternal and Infant Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_8797\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 210px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8797\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/obgyn\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1360\/2023\/08\/stuebe-Edit-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">Stuebe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dr. Alison Stuebe, professor of obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine expert, has been named co-director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mombaby.org\/\">UNC Center for Maternal and Infant Health<\/a> (CMIH).<\/p>\n<p>She was appointed by UNC School of Medicine Dean Wesley Burks to join Wayne Price, professor of pediatrics and specialist in neonatal medicine, who also serves as co-director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is time to \u2018pass the baton\u2019 to our eminently qualified colleague, Alison Stuebe,\u201d says Dr. Kate Menard, who has served that role through significant growth of the center for the past 15 years. \u201cAlison has been serving as the Associate Director of Research and Program Development for several years and is the catalyst or lead, along with Executive Director Sarah Verbiest, for numerous impactful mother\/baby centered research and public health programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Menard, Upjohn Distinguished Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, will remain involved with the center as a senior adviser.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"st\">UNC CMIH is dedicated to improving the care for mothers and babies in the state by leading the translation of evidence-based care into community practice and expanding health services research in preconception, perinatal and infant care.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Alison Stuebe, professor of obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine expert, has been named co-director of the UNC Center for Maternal and Infant Health (CMIH).
