This prestigious honor is among the highest the University bestows upon its faculty, recognizing those who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in their fields or across disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>John Boggess, MD, has been appointed as the Catherine Sou-Mei Young Distinguished Professor. Dr. Boggess currently serves as the Division Director for Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Director of Clinical Gynecologic Oncology in the Lineberger Cancer Center. Stringer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jeffrey S.A. Stringer, MD, FACOG, has been appointed as the Clark-Pearson Distinguished Professor. Dr. Stringer is the current Division Director of Global Women&#8217;s Health. Dr. Stringer holds appointments in both the School of Medicine (OBGYN) and the Gillings School of Global Public Health (Epidemiology). He also serves as Associate Director for Research within UNC\u2019s Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases. Dr. Stringer has significant experience in scientific leadership, directing major interventional, observational, translational, and implementation research initiatives, and holding key roles within the DAIDS HIV\/AIDS clinical trials networks.
