\"\"We are pleased to announce that Daniel Clarke-Pearson, MD<\/a>, has been invited to present the James Rose Lectureship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, on September 17. Dr. Clarke-Pearson is the chair emeritus of the UNC department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.<\/p>\r\n

Dr. Clarke-Pearson will deliver a lecture titled: \u201cPivotal Transitions in American Surgery and Art: Thomas Eakins\u2019 \u2018Gross Clinic\u2019 and \u2018Agnew Clinic\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

\u201cDr. Rose\u2019s research made many significant contributions to the field of obstetrics and it is an honor to be invited to present the James Rose Lectureship,\u201d said Dr. Clarke-Pearson.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

The James Rose Lectureship is an annual event honoring the life and legacy of James Rose, MS, PhD (1942\u20132021). Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Rose graduated from the University of Richmond in 1965 with a BS in Chemistry, followed by an MS and PhD in Physiology from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed post-doctoral training in physiology at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1976, Dr. Rose joined the faculty at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where he spent the next 39 years building a renowned research program in Perinatal Biology. In 2012, he received Wake Forest\u2019s Lifetime Special Achievement Award, and upon his retirement in 2015, he was recognized for an outstanding career marked by excellence in research, teaching, and service.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
