Additionally, most of the medical hardships in my immediate and extended family have been OB\/GYN-related, and I see entering in this field as a way to advocate for the women in my family, and others like them, who have endured so much.<\/p>\n<h3>WHY UNC?<\/h3>\n<p>I have long admired UNC&#8217;s commitment to cultivating a residency cohort whose diverse backgrounds reflect the patient population it serves. I was encouraged to discover, after meeting these residents and faculty personally, that they are as funny and kind as they are intelligent and highly-skilled! These interactions, coupled with the opportunity to explore virtually any subspecialty that OB\/GYN has to offer alongside renowned leaders in the field, assured me that UNC would provide me with the ideal training ground for both my personal and professional development.
