The primary goal of this initiative was to strengthen research training environments and promote broad participation in the biomedical research workforce by supporting the development of biomedical PhD students and their successful transition to bioscience careers. \u00a0The UNC IMSD program provided graduate students with academic enrichment, a supportive community, and professional development opportunities that enhance success in their PhD training and make them highly competitive for the postdoctoral positions and scientific careers of their choice.\u00a0 <\/div>\n<div class=\"col-lg-5 col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-sm-12 oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<div class=\"col-lg-7 col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-sm-12 oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p>Through admission via the\u00a0<a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/bbsp.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (BBSP)<\/a>, students interested in pursuing a PhD in the biomedical sciences can select from over 300 research labs and 15 PhD programs to conduct their doctoral research.
