We are currently planning for the 2023 SURE-REU program to begin Monday, May 22nd at 9am<\/span><\/span> and end on Friday <\/span><\/span>July<\/span><\/span> 28<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n

All participants MUST arrive on Sunday, May 21st. Please do not consider applying if you will be unable to meet this requirement.<\/b><\/p>\n

Participants will receive a stipend of $6000; a food allowance of $800 and travel support up to $450.<\/p>\n

The online application opens in October, and we will review applicants and extend offers on a rolling basis starting in January. In\u00a0March, we will make lab placements in consultation with accepted participants. At the end of May, students will travel to Chapel Hill for the 10-week residential program. They will participate in a welcome reception, program orientation, lab safety, and harassment training, followed by the research-intensive phase. There will be twice-weekly professional development workshops throughout the program.<\/p>\n

Review of the applications will begin on January 16.<\/strong> For full consideration, submission\u00a0of applications, including all supporting materials, must be\u00a0complete by\u00a0February 17th<\/b>. Offers of admission will begin in early to mid-February.<\/p>\n
