We are very pleased to share exciting news!
After a decade of successful collaborations and hard work – and in efforts to continue growing and deepening partnerships- the OIA is transitioning to the UNC Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases (IGHID) and being renamed the Office of Global Health Education. And, we are excited to share our OIA 10-Year Report below!
What we do and who we serve will not change. Our office will remain in 1066 Bondurant so we are easily available to medical students and residents. Our leadership team remains including myself, Sylvia Becker-Dreps and Justin Myers (Associate Directors), Camila Restrepo Chavez (Coordinator), and Shay Slifko, who is now our Assistant Director!
This decision has resounding support of SOM leadership and will only enhance global health opportunities. We will continue to support UNC-Chapel Hill in aspiring to be the leading global public health institution in the world.
