Dr. Ashley is a physician and adjunct faculty in the UNC Emergency Medicine Department. She attended medical school at the University of California Davis, followed by an emergency medicine residency at East Carolina University, completed a fellowship in Global Health Leadership at University of North Carolina Department of Emergency Medicine, and earned an MPH at UNC Gillings School of Public Health. Her global health career has covered a broad range of international emergency medicine experiences, including direct clinical care and tropical medicine, teaching and research, military medicine, disaster response, humanitarian aid and development, and private contracting in remote and underserved areas.
