MEDI 413 – Nephrology
My elective experience has been great. I was surprised by the huge size of this institute.Chapel Hill and campus are beautiful. The faculty has been great and they have taught us with great enthusiasm. I also loved the conferences and other academic activities which took place while I was rotating. The number and variety of patients coming to UNC health provides a great learning opportunity to students. Overall it was a great experience.
The entire nephrology team is very thorough with their patient work up. I learned how to analyze urine samples and was also able to witness the placement of a dialysis catheter. The rotation also helped me polish my case presentation skills.
