Award Information<\/p>\n

Initiator Award (INI):<\/strong> Awards provide two distinct phases of research support: Phase 1 provides up to two years of support for mentored training at a maximum of $100,000 per year (including 10% indirect costs), Phase 2 provides up to five years of support for independent research at a maximum of $325,000 per year (including 30% indirect costs). Maximum combined support for Phase 1 and Phase 2 is $1,625,000.<\/p>\n

Maximum Funding:<\/strong>\u00a0Up to $100,000\/year in Phase 1, Up to $325,000\/year in Phase 2<\/p>\n

Support:\u00a0<\/strong>Project support & PI salary
\nIndirect Support:<\/strong>\u00a0Up to 10% of directs in Phase 1, Up to 30% of directs in Phase 2
\nProject % Effort Required<\/strong>: 75-100% effort in Phase 1, 50-75% effort in Phase 2<\/p>\n

Accelerator Award (ACE):<\/strong> Awards provide five years of research support at a maximum of $325,000 per year\u00a0(including 30% indirect costs), for a total of $1,625,000.<\/p>\n

  4. List of potential collaborators\u00a0<\/strong>(internal and external to UNC)\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Names of three internal (to UNC) experts who could speak knowledgeably about the candidate\u2019s research and who could potentially serve on an internal review panel.\u00a0<\/strong>\n
